Have you ever read a book that gently, quietly wraps itself around your heart? Rare indeed…and this was one of those reads!
Cleo writes for a popular British magazine detailing her search for her flamingo. The one love certain to last a lifetime.
Have you found your flamingo?
As you may have guessed, she’s been rather unsuccessful in love. So with the backing of her magazine, she’s off to a remote island…not to find love but to “marry herself”.
But life might have other plans for her.
After a cold and miserable boat ride with a surly American, Cleo finally arrives at the remote Salvation Island. There she discovers both she and the American, Mack are booked into the only lodging on the entire island. Great! Now with no way off the island for at least a week it’s up to them to figure out how to make it all work under one roof.
Is it possible to fall just a little in love….Micro-love❣️
This book started off slowly for me. But before I knew it, I suddenly fell in love with this sweet romance. The island is magical and certainly somewhere I would love to lose myself in. The cast of characters who inhabit this remote, mystical place was amazing. I felt as though I were right there in the pub with the entire village, being warmly welcomed as though I were one of them.
This book will always hold a….Sliver of my heart♥️
The romance was slow and sweet with the perfect ending that fit the book so well. This is my third read by this author, and once again she has blown me away with her unique ability to touch my heart and leave me in tears by the end of the book.
A buddy read with Susanne.

Is it possible to fall in love just a little? That is the question and Josie Silver (and Kaceey) have the answer.
In One Night on the Island, anything is possible.
Cleo is the writer of a British dating column who goes to Salvation Island in search of answers and to marry herself. Yep, you heard that right. She plans to “self-couple.” Unlucky in love and about to turn the big 30, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and make a pledge to herself.
Cleo however, ends up finding oh so much more after meeting Mack, the American she meets while traveling to Salvation Island, who ends up sharing not just her cabin, but also her bed!
Sweet, fun, and utterly magical, these two might just make you fall in Micro-love. That is if you’re a believer.
Although I really enjoyed this novel, I didn’t quite love it as much as Josie Silver’s other novels.
I will admit that the idea of self-coupling didn’t quite appeal to me at the time (something I discussed with Kaceey at length (as a single woman myself)) until I took a little vacation to Coronado Island this past weekend and happened upon the most gorgeous hotel ever. Upon seeing it, I immediately texted Kaceey and said that it was so pretty I imagined that everyone would want to get married there and that I’d even go so far as to marry myself there too! At that exact moment, I burst out laughing realizing exactly what I said, as did Kaceey. Bravo Ms Silver, Bravo!
A fabulous buddy read with Kaceey!
